About our group:

The Test Process and Firmware Engineering organization is hiring a Firmware Engineer at our Longmont Design Center. The test process firmware team is responsible for the design, development, testing and debug of the entire suite of test process firmware modules that provide calibration, characterization, setup and screening capabilities for hard drives during the factory process, and this responsibility extends from advanced feature development and technology development plans early in program life cycles, all the way through program qualification. The team collaborates very closely with multiple groups within the company, including core team test process representatives, design engineering functional teams, controller firmware development teams, and factory test process development teams.

About the role - you will:

  • Design, Develop, Test and Integrate new Test Process features into Hard Disc Drive products.
  • Get involved in challenging projects and gain exposure to software engineering best practices.
  • Participate in requirements gathering and be responsible for developing, debugging and deploying these tools.
  • Contribute to cross functional teams.
  • Present recommendations to the team.

About you:

  • Ability to solve complex and dynamic problems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with confidence in presenting to groups.
  • Comfortability with and interest in working in fast paced environment of tech industry.
  • Self-motivated with desire to learn.
  • Ability to work individually and within a team setting.

Your experience includes:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent degree.
  • Base knowledge working with embedded firmware and the design, implementation, and debug processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to debug hardware / firmware issues using a variety of methods, including oscilloscopes, code emulation, code debug reporting, etc., directed towards identifying failure root cause and driving corrective actions.
  • Demonstrated skill in oral and written communication to be able to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and present issues and status to management.

You might also have:

  • Experience using source code control systems such as Perforce or Git
  • C/C++, Python and Object Oriented coding experience is a plus.

The estimated base salary range for this position is $71,157.00 - $101,747.00 The individual salary is based on work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
