Sr Engineer, Hardware Test Technician

About the role - you will:

You will be responsible for assisting in the execution and reporting of the electrical engineering verification tests through the application of professionally accepted engineering techniques, practices and procedures. Ideally, you will have solid Hardware Test Technician experience in a laboratory environment and strong written & verbal communication abilities.

  • Support development projects by executing EVT test plans and writing detailed test reports
  • Perform test procedures to validate electronic circuit operation to the functional specification and test plan
  • Work with hardware test management and electrical engineering management to assist in the implementing of EVT test plans and schedules
  • Read and understand PCBA schematics & Component Datasheets
  • Ability to work with PCB layout tools (Mentor Graphics/Cadence)
  • Proficient fine pitch solder skills
  • Provide real-time feedback to design team of test issues found
  • Set up and operate environmental chambers
  • Assist design engineering with new product board bring up, code load and troubleshooting analog and digital circuits
  • Configure and run storage products
  • Help programming IC’s via Data Programmer & in-circuit

Your experience includes:


Requires detailed knowledge, experience and ability for verification of electrical interfaces including SAS, Fibre Channel, Ethernet optical / copper, PCIe, DDR4 / SRAM / eMMC memory, SPI, CAN, I2C, DC. And noise sensitive DC regulated low voltage high current power.
AA/AS Electrical and/or Computer Engineering, or equivalent
6+ years of hands-on hardware experience
Self-starter, ability to self-manage project deliverables and timeline
Knowledge of quality assurance practices and software development practices
Read and understand schematics
Hands on, in-depth PCBA probing and measuring abilities
Very adept in probing analog and digital circuits utilizing various test equipment
Extensive hands on knowledge of test equipment including; O-scopes, DPOJET/Software Compliance packages, Multimeters, TDR, data loggers & power analysis tools
Ability to debug to the component level
Ability to change tasks to meet new priorities
Extensive soldering and de-soldering skill of small components/fine pitch, down to 0201 package sizes
Some mechanical assembly and electronics background
PCIe, NVMe, DDR3+ memory, iSCSI,  Fibre Channel, SAS/SATA, I2C, CAN, SPI protocol experience helpful
Strong communicational skills
Bachelor's Degree and 5+ years experience, or Master’s Degree and 3+ years experience, or PHD and 0+ years of experience or equivalent education and experience

Colorado's 2021 Equal Pay for Equal Work Act (SB 19-085) requires we inform you of the estimated salary range for this position: $80,400 - $118,400.
