Seagate is seeking a strategic and experienced Senior Quality Engineering Manager to join our Customer Success team within the Systems Business Unit. You will lead a global team of quality engineers focused on post-sales product performance, customer issue resolution, and continuous improvement. About the role - you will:
Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Strategy · Lead and mentor a global team of quality engineers supporting customer success and field quality. · Define and execute quality strategies aligned with business goals and customer expectations. · Represent the voice of the customer in cross-functional forums and drive quality-centric decisions. Customer Engagement · Partner with Technical Account Managers, Field Application Engineers, and Technical Support to resolve complex customer issues. · Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective action processes for systemic field issues. · Communicate quality trends, risks, and mitigation plans to executive stakeholders and customers. · Represent quality in the Program Update call through weekly customer updates, ensuring alignment on issue status and resolution progress. Quality Systems & Governance · Own and manage Jira dashboards across key systems accounts to track field issues, 8D progress, and quality KPIs. · Provide real-time visibility into issue status, aging, and resolution effectiveness for internal and external stakeholders. · Chair the 8D System Oversight Board, ensuring timely and effective completion of 8D corrective actions and driving accountability across engineering and operations teams. · Communicate into the Supply Demand Agreement (SDA) weekly call, providing quality insights that influence planning and customer commitments. Analytics & Continuous Improvement · Develop and maintain metrics dashboards to monitor field quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction. · Drive continuous improvement using Six Sigma, 8D, FMEA, and other quality methodologies. · Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and test engineering to ensure closed-loop feedback from the field. Cross-Functional Collaboration · Work closely with Product Management, Engineering, and Operations to influence product design and lifecycle quality. · Support new product introductions (NPI) with a focus on field readiness and early-life performance.
About you:
· Strong experience with Jira, Sales Force, and other issue-tracking and reporting tools. · Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional quality governance boards or similar forums. · Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills. · Certifications such as Six Sigma Black Belt, CQE, or PMP are a plus.
Your experience includes:
· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or related technical field. · 8 - 10 years of experience in quality engineering, with at least 3 - 5 years in a leadership role. · Proven track record in customer-facing quality roles, preferably in enterprise systems or storage.
Location:
The estimated base salary range for this position is $129,800 - $189,200. The individual salary is based on work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
