Object Storage Solution Test Engineer

About our group:


As a member of the Quality Solution Test team, you will be part of a fast-paced, global test team working on end-to-end solution test coverage and continuous process improvement. You'll have the opportunity to test the Seagate Solutions (Lyve products) in order to help ensure quality and identify problems before release and early in the development lifecycle. As a member of the Solutions test team, you will use a variety of skills and will have the opportunity to explore and use new and emerging technologies. You will be writing and executing new tests for Seagate’s Lyve product line including Lyve Rack, an object storage-based eco-system as part of our quality/reliability validation process.

About the role - you will:


  • Be responsible for the test development, execution, and automation of Lyve Rack/Cortx
  • Work with the Seagate Quality PAE team, and the Object and Cloud storage industry to develop a resilient and high performing storage platform
  • Be part of a team responsible for testing the products as a customer would
  • Work with the Engineering QA team to collaborate and align on test strategy and feature hand-off  
  • Resolve issues related to Cortx software and Lyve Rack hardware and working with the Development team to resolve
  • Aassist with user experience and interoperability testing to ensure a seamless customer experience
  • Assist with marketing defined certification and application compatibility testing

Your experience includes:


  • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Windows, Linux and VMware  
  • Knowledge and experience with Ceph, MinIO or other Object Storage applications
  • Software Defined Storage, with focus on object storage
  • Block and file storage experience
  • Building, managing and monitoring test systems and storage solutions (software and hardware)  
  • Third party application experience - Veeam, Docker, Kubernetes
  • Networking concepts (DNS, TCP/IP, and firewalls)  
  • Some automation experience – Selenium, Appium, Cucumber, Python Test experience Agile Scrum
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline and 3+ years experience or Masters degree in the same or equivalent education and experience

  • Data center or lab infrastructure management experience


Colorado's 2021 Equal Pay for Equal Work Act (SB 19-085) requires we inform you of the estimated base salary range for this position: $69,300.00 – $99,000.00.  Actual salary range is based on fair market value of the role in the geography in which you live based on the requirements of the job and your skills.  This posted salary range is a good faith and reasonable estimate, and Seagate reserves the right to adjust this range depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
