Seagate designs, develops, and manufactures class leading hard disc drives (HDDs) and systems that support the world's data storage needs.  The product development group turns our product development roadmap into high volume hardware that is an integral part of the cloud and rapidly developing AI infrastructure.  Our product development activities encompass multiple sites across the globe.  This role supports the product development core teams by accurately tracking and communicating incoming material and HDD shipments in a fast paced and dynamic environment that interacts with teams in the US, Europe, and Asia.  This role will assist in managing material inventories and will provide reporting used to evaluate budget outlook and actual costs associated with material used for product development.  This role is based in our Longmont, Colorado design center.

About the role - you will:

•    The role’s primary objective is related to managing design center development team’s drive and materials inventory and physical movement.
•    You will provide time critical tracking and management of incoming drive and materials shipments, communicating shipment schedules and other materials logistics information to core teams and key stakeholders across multiple sites.
•    Utilize the SAP Fiori - S/4 shipment software tools for shipment activities and tracking.
•    Have a skillset to enable understanding and generation of multiple reports using internal query tools related to inventory and shipment tracking information.  Ability to modify or specify changes to queries to facilitate the updates needed.
•    You will be able to utilize standardized internal processes and excel to generate and summarize materials cost and cost recovery outlook.
•    You will assist the product development team by coordinating with overseas factories and stakeholders at multiple sites to evaluate and coordinate material disposition after the product development activities have been completed.
•    Coordinate and assist with physical drive and materials movement and inventory evaluation.
•    Additional responsibility requires generation and summarization of information from the development core team development drive build plan to Seagate’s Finance team to support core team materials cost and budget outlook.  
•    Coordinate with multiple engineering development teams to gather input into the Advanced Development Integration drive build and materials acquisition plan and monitor / coordinate if any constraints or gaps to current plans and update potential changes.
•    Publish the Advanced Development Integration materials and drive build plan document to the stakeholders and coordinate with the factory teams to execute the development drive builds.  Normally this activity will require evening conference calls to coordinate with Seagate factories in Asia at least 1x per week.
•    Assist in coordination of local pilot development materials and drive builds with other functions as needed, assist with review of required parts inventory to accomplish local pilot line builds.

About you:

•    Requires advanced proficiency with Excel spreadsheets, including complex pivot tables, multi-level information filtering, and excel formulas.  Ability to summarize information from complex spreadsheets into useful reports to support management decision making.
•    Requires good written and verbal communication and organization capabilities.
•    Requires good task/schedule management and effective time management to complete time sensitive tasks.
•    Requires support for evening conference calls with Asia factories – typically may be 2 hours of evening conference calls each week.
•    Requires general understanding of report or data automation reporting tools and the ability to learn these tools.
•    Experience with Copilot or other AI tools is beneficial.
•    Required to be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Your experience includes:

•    Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and coordinate diverse inputs into actions.
•    Software skills include good level of proficiency with excel and ability to learn corporate systems that support inventory review.
•    Excellent written and oral communication skills.
•    Basic understanding of Bill of Materials for manufacturing concepts.
•    Familiarity with general query tools and query development concepts.
•    Focus on teamwork, with ability to take on and complete projects with minimal supervision.

The estimated base salary range for this position is $73,000 - $104,000. The individual salary is based on work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
