About the role - you will:

We are looking for a technically curious intern to support Seagate’s reference architecture and design work with China’s leading cloud service providers and enterprise partners. This early-career role focuses on learning how storage is designed, deployed, and operated in large-scale environments, and helping capture those insights to shape reference designs and Seagate’s product strategy.
Working alongside the China architecture lead, the intern will help document reference architectures, collect and organize technical data, and support engagement with customer engineering teams. It is a strong opportunity for a student interested in systems, storage, and AI infrastructure to gain hands-on experience as a technical partner to real customer environments.
1) Reference Architecture & Design Support
•    Help design and document reference architectures for Seagate storage solutions, working with the architecture lead and partners in compute, networking, and software.
•    Assist in comparing power, performance, and cost characteristics against alternative storage solutions.
•    Support documentation of Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and other technical comparisons.
2) Data Collection & Validation
•    Collect, organize, and analyze technical data from lab and customer environments to inform reference designs.
•    Support test tracking, results collection, and analysis to improve design efficiency and readiness.
•    Help build reusable templates and data sets that make reference designs easier to maintain and share.
3) Insight & Cross-Team Collaboration
•    Capture learnings from customer and lab environments and turn them into clear, structured input for the team.
•    Help translate technical findings into product requirements, roadmap input, and solution material.
•    Collaborate with Product, Engineering and Customer Success contacts to align on priorities.

About you:

•    Interest in storage systems, cloud infrastructure, or AI infrastructure architecture.
•    Detail-oriented, collaborative, and eager to learn from senior engineers and customers.

Your experience includes:

•    Current student (Bachelor’s or Master’s) in computer science, electrical/computer engineering, systems, or a related technical field.
•    Solid analytical and documentation skills; comfortable working with technical data and specifications.
•    Fluent in Mandarin and professional English.

Location:

Beijing / Hangzhou / Shenzhen preferred; other China locations considered for exceptional candidates
