Sales Development Representative I - Entry Level (Seagate University Sales Program)



About our group:

The inside sales team is part of the global emerging markets sales team, a front-line enterprise end-customer-facing group, responsible for generating revenue for Seagate’s portfolio of enterprise data storage (EDS) and Lyve Services solutions.  The team’s objectives are to prospect target leads as well as nurture referred leads from marketing campaigns from a marketing qualification state until they are sales-ready.  The end-goal of qualifying sales leads is to enable field sales representatives to convert and close the deal for revenue generation.


About Seagate University Sales Program: 
This position is a part of the Seagate University Sales Program.  The program runs 12 weeks from the start date of the position and includes a cross-functional development project, product & skills training, and travel to main Seagate sites across the world.  
The purpose of this program is to create an environment focused on learning, development, and peer connection enabling participants to develop to their fullest potential and connect within the Seagate community.  The 2021 cohort will consist of entry level sales professionals. 

About the role - you will:

The key responsibilities of the Seagate Sales Representative I role include lead prospecting, development and management through the marketing qualification cycle until they become sales qualified, at which point they will be passed on to a field sales representative to further convert into revenue opportunities. The team also manages the overall aspect of the sales process from bottoms up sales planning, to coordinating subscription and renewal transactions of Lyve data transfer as a service (DTaaS) interactions.

•    Create an awareness and demand for EDS and Lyve product and services portfolio
•    Manage the pre-sales process of lead prospecting, qualification, development and nurturing until it is sales-ready
•    Take advantage of cross-selling and up-selling opportunities, including renewals
•    Communicate with customers via outbound calling, inbound phone support, emails and professional social media platforms such as Linked-In
•    Diligently document lead acquisition stages in the Customer Relationship Management System (CRMS) salesforce.com
•    Stay informed about customer challenges that need to be solved with portfolio offering

About you:

•    Bachelor’s Degree and/or equivalent experience.  
•    Entry Level Sales or Business Experience. 
•    Technology sector experience is preferred
•    Basic understanding of how a storage ecosystem works and the difference between, servers, storage, private clouds, public clouds, and the mix of hybrid models in between
•    Working knowledge of managed, consulting or professional services
•    An independent performer comfortable holding conversations in areas outside of their direct knowledge base
•    Attention to detail and solid organizational skills
•    Must have strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
•    A self-starter who is not shy about cold calling targeted customers, initiating product or services upselling or cross-selling conversations
•    Ability to be flexible, a cross-functional collaborator
•    An outstanding listener and customer-centric representative who remains courteous under pressure
•    Foreign language fluency is a plus
