Our Slider Process team at Seagate Korat is committed to advancing cleaning technologies that meet future product requirements and enhance overall product cleanliness and quality. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Engineer II to develop, and innovate within our cleaning process organization. This position plays an important role in driving our continuous improvement roadmap and ensuring the sustained excellence of our manufacturing operations.
About the role - you will:
Lead the monitoring and analysis of key process input and output variables (KPIVs/KPOVs) and develop robust process control systems to ensure compliance with cleanliness Critical-to-Quality (CTQ) requirements and maintain high product quality standards. Plan, execute, and evaluate process development activities, engineering trials, and machine qualification to support yield improvement, product quality enhancement, cost reduction, and manufacturing efficiency. Conduct root cause analysis of process and cleanliness-related issues, and implement effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to improve process performance and reduce defect rates. Document technical findings, process changes, lessons learned, and best practices to support knowledge retention and continuous improvement. Identify, propose, and drive innovative process improvement opportunities and technology solutions within the area of expertise. Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and customers to resolve technical challenges and support business objectives. Support the transfer and implementation of new products, technologies, and processes from development into high-volume manufacturing. Ensure compliance with safety, quality, environmental, and operational standards in all engineering activities.
About you:
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and root cause investigation skills. Proficiency in statistical analysis, data interpretation, and data analytics tools such as JMP, SQL, or equivalent platforms. Strong project management and prioritization skills and meet challenging deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate across cross-functional teams and lead technical discussions. Demonstrated leadership, teamwork, and organizational capabilities. Strong technical aptitude in manufacturing processes, process optimization, and continuous improvement methodologies. Ability to make data-driven decisions and effectively communicate technical findings to diverse audiences.
Your experience includes:
Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, Electronics Engineering, or a related engineering discipline. Minimum 3 years of experience in HDD manufacturing, cleaning processes, semiconductor manufacturing, electronics manufacturing, or a related industry. Proficiency in written and spoken English. Solid understanding of chemical properties, surface chemistry, and engineering principles related to cleaning processes and chemical applications. Knowledge of cleaning chemistries, including solvents, surfactants, and corrosive chemicals. Experience with contamination control, process characterization, and process development is highly desirable.
