About our group:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Finance and Analytics Intern to support the optimization of reporting processes of Edge business adjacent segments.  This internship provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in financial reporting, cross-functional collaboration, and data analytics.  In addition, this role will get practical experience in enterprise reporting consolidation and will contribute to real-world automation and dashboarding projects.


The intern will lead the development of a scalable and standardized process that integrates weekly flash reporting, quarter-end close reporting and quarterly forecasting of Edge business segment.  The goal is to design a reporting foundation that enables consistency, automation, and insightful executive-level financial dashboards.

About the role - you will:

  1. Reporting and Process Mapping
    1. Document current-state financial reporting processes (Revenue, Gross Margin, Op Income) for weekly flash signals and quarter end close.
    2. Identify gaps, overlaps, and inconsistencies in financial reporting and metric definitions across business segments.
    3. Interview key stakeholders to understand financial reporting requirements and critical metrics tracked by Edge executives.
  2. Consolidation and Standardization
    1. Develop a framework to consolidate and standardize key financial metrics.
    2. Propose and document unified definitions for KPIs across Edge segments (e.g. revenue, margins, YoY/QoQ growth rates, EB, cost drivers, etc).
    3. Work with Edge Finance to integrate relevant metrics into Edge financial reporting
  3. Data and Automation Readiness
    1. Identify and map foundational data sources required for accurate and timely reporting
    2. Develop initial building blocks for automated reporting pipelines (in Excel, Power BI, Tableau or other similar reporting tools)
    3. Recommend or create templates, mockups, or prototypes for automated dashboards and reports.
  4. Stakeholder Alignment
    1. Collaborate with Edge Finance and FP&A to gather feedback and align on standard metrics and reporting cadence.
    2. Present findings and recommendations regularly to Edge Sr. Finance director and Edge business executives.
  5. Documentation and Handoff
    1. Prepare comprehensive documentation of proposed processes, templates and frameworks.
    2. Create a knowledge base or playbook for ongoing reporting processes and dashboard development.
    3. Summarize opportunities and recommendations for long term automation and improvements.

About you:

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work across cross-functional teams
  • Self-starter with high attention to detail and project ownership mindset

Your experience includes:

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills
  • Strong analytics and data visualization skills
  • Familiarity with financial statements, forecasting and KPI frameworks
  • Experience with process improvement or process mapping
  • Current student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Analytics, Data Engineering or related field and returning to classes in Fall 2026

The estimated base wage range for this position is $19 - $24/hr. The individual base wage is based on work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Seagate offers comprehensive benefits to its eligible Interns, including, but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, and participation in the employee stock purchase plan.  Seagate also offers Interns 12 paid holidays and a minimum of 48 hours of paid sick leave.  The benefits for this position are based on a 24 to 40-hour-per-week schedule for a full calendar year and may differ depending on work location and tenure with the Company.
