This role leads Seagate’s cloud product marketing function, with a primary focus on U.S. cloud customers and serving as the interface between technical organizations and corporate marketing. The team ensures product positioning, messaging, and thought leadership are aligned with product strategy, technical differentiation, and market needs.
 

This group partners globally across Product Roadmap, Technical Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, Segment Marketing, and Corporate Marketing to translate technical innovation into compelling customer narratives and market impact. 

About the role - you will:

As the Director, Cloud Product Marketing, you will lead Seagate's thought leadership, messaging, content, and external engagement strategy for the Cloud business. You will translate technical innovation, product strategy, and industry insights into compelling narratives that strengthen Seagate's market leadership and influence industry stakeholders, analysts, partners, media, and sales teams. 

This role serves as the central connection point between Product Roadmap, Technical Marketing, Corporate Marketing and Sales Enablement to ensure Seagate's external voice is consistent, differentiated, and aligned with strategic priorities. You will own the processes, programs, and content that communicate Seagate's point of view, amplify technical expertise, and create greater market awareness of Seagate's leadership in cloud, AI, and data infrastructure. 

 

Key responsibilities include: 

  

  • Thought Leadership Strategy: Define and execute Seagate's thought leadership strategy, establishing priority themes and content pillars that reinforce Seagate's position as an industry leader in cloud, AI, and storage infrastructure. 
  • Messaging & Narrative Development: Develop compelling narratives that translate technical innovation, product strategy, and industry trends into clear, differentiated, and market-relevant messaging. 
  • External Cloud Engagement Strategy: Partner with Corporate Marketing to define and execute Seagate's cloud and technical engagement strategy across conferences, industry events, analyst briefings, speaking opportunities, and external forums. Ensure participation, content, and messaging align with Seagate's strategic priorities and cloud portfolio objectives. 
  • Content Portfolio Management: Establish and manage a centralized content framework that makes technical, product, and thought leadership content accessible, reusable, and easily consumable across the organization. 
  • Sales Enablement Leadership: Serve as the primary partner for Sales Enablement, ensuring sales teams have messaging, presentations, proof points, and supporting content that effectively communicate Seagate's value and differentiation. 
  • Corporate Marketing Partnership: Act as the primary interface with Corporate Marketing, aligning product narratives and thought leadership initiatives with company-wide campaigns, communications, and brand priorities. 
  • Technical Expertise Amplification: Partner with roadmap owners, technical marketing leaders, and subject matter experts to transform deep technical expertise into externally relevant content and market influence. 
  • Market Intelligence & Insights: Establish processes to capture, consolidate, and share insights from industry events, analyst engagements, ecosystem interactions, and market activities, ensuring key learnings are broadly leveraged across the organization. 
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Drive coordination across Product Roadmap, Technical Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, Corporate Marketing, and executive leadership to ensure messaging consistency and organizational alignment. 

About you:

  • Strategic marketer with exceptional storytelling, communication, and positioning skills. 
  • Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into compelling and differentiated market narratives. 
  • Experienced in building and executing thought leadership programs that influence industry conversations and strengthen market position. 
  • Strong program manager who can create structure, drive alignment, and manage content across multiple stakeholders. 
  • Creative thinker who can identify opportunities to increase visibility, influence, and engagement. 
  • Effective collaborator capable of working across deeply technical teams, marketing organizations, and executive leadership. 
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills with a passion for developing impactful content and communications. 

Your experience includes:

  • Extensive experience in Product Marketing, Technical Marketing, Industry Marketing, Thought Leadership, Communications, or related technology-focused roles.  
  • Experience developing and executing thought leadership programs, external engagement strategies, and content portfolios.  
  • Demonstrated success building messaging frameworks and narratives that support market differentiation and business growth.  
  • Experience managing industry events, conference strategies, speaking programs, analyst engagement, or executive communications.  
  • Experience working across Product Management, Product Roadmap, Technical Marketing, Sales, Sales Enablement, and Corporate Marketing organizations.  
  • Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, AI, hyperscale, storage, data center, or related technology markets.  
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Business, or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Experience marketing complex technical products and translating technical concepts into compelling narratives for technical and business audiences.

The estimated base salary range for this position is $168,000 - $250,000. The individual salary is based on work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

The benefits for this position are based on a full-time schedule for a full calendar year and may differ depending on work location.
