Senior Lithography Process Engineer (Ref: 14167)
We are seeking an Engineer with lithography manufacturing experience to join the Photo Process Engineering team at our Springtown wafer fabrication facility. The successful candidate will play a key role in sustaining and optimising photolithography processes supporting HAMR/PMR recording head manufacturing in a high-volume environment.

The successful candidate will play a key role in sustaining and optimising photolithography processes supporting HAMR/PMR recording head manufacturing in a high-volume environment.
You will:
• Own and continuously improve lithography processes to deliver strong product performance, yield, quality, throughput and manufacturability.
• Drive process improvement through overlay control, CD optimisation, scrap/rework reduction and tool matching
• Lead root cause investigation of process excursions using structured problem-solving (8D, DMAIC)
• Characterise process windows to improve performance and process capability
• Maintain and enhance process control systems, including APC, SPC, OCAPs, automation, and error-proofing approaches that support robust manufacturing performance.
• Support qualification of new products and introduction of new materials, resists, and equipment
• Collaborate with Integration, Etch, Electroplating and Metrology teams to ensure end-to-end process performance
• Work with equipment engineering and vendors to improve tool stability, uptime, and matching
• Communicate clear data-driven updates to internal stakeholders and senior leadership
About you:
If you hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree this role does not meet the criteria set by the Home Office for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker Visa route; therefore, visa sponsorship cannot be offered. You must have that full Right to Work Documentation to work in the UK. If you hold a PhD, the role does meet the criteria, and visa sponsorship can be offered. • A curious and innovative engineer with proven lithography experience in a high-volume manufacturing or semiconductor environment.
• A structured problem solver who uses data, statistical analysis, and sound engineering judgement to understand issues, identify root causes, and drive sustainable improvements.
• Technically strong in lithography fundamentals, including resist behaviour, exposure, pattern transfer, overlay, defect reduction, and process control.
• Results focused, with a track record of delivering projects, improving yield, reducing defects, and progressing actions through to completion.
• A clear and confident communicator, able to present technical information effectively and influence across cross-functional teams.
• A collaborative team player who works effectively with others to deliver shared goals.
• Adaptable, resilient, and self-motivated, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and make progress in a fast-paced, high-tech manufacturing environment.
Your experience includes:

• 4+ years of hands-on lithography experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience operating and/or maintaining lithography process equipment (coat/develop tools, steppers/scanners/aligners, strippers, etc)
• Good understanding of Lithography fundamentals: optical imaging, photoresist chemistry, mask design, dosing, pattern formation etc
• Expertise in lithography characterisation & metrology techniques (overlay, CDSEM)
