The Seagate Derry / Londonderry Manufacturing site has been open for 30 years this year. We have over 1400 people working in our facility which is among the most advanced in the world, in the design, development, and volume manufacturing of recording heads. These recording heads write information onto and read information from the recording disc, within the data storage device.
In the role of Operations Planning Engineer you will be part of a team responsible for key services including capacity planning, capital budget planning and design of factory layouts, factory staffing and factory modelling. You will be exposed to and involved with applying engineering models, mathematical models, simulation and optimization models to drive solutions for complex manufacturing problems. You will also support and improve the performance of Manufacturing operations. The Operations Planning team play a critical role in the execution of Seagate’s Product and Technology Roadmap.
About the role - you will:
The successful candidate will collaborate in a team environment to determine the capital and capacity required for the development and manufacturing of Seagate’s technology and product roadmap. You will also impact the bottom line of the business by taking responsibility for developing efficient world class manufacturing processes & systems using analytical data to determine the most efficient utilisation of personnel and equipment.
The identification, management and resolution of bottlenecks and becoming a champion of change will also be part of your brief. You will have demonstrated strong organisational skills with the ability to work on your own initiative, manage multiple tasks simultaneously and be able to react to shifting priorities to meet business needs.
