About the role - you will:

 

Seagate’s IT Global Infrastructure Services (GIS) organization is seeking an intern to help optimize and continuously improve our business processes and projects. The intern will assist the IT Infrastructure team with the day-to-day operations and administration of Linux and Kubernetes systems to automate the support activities, analyze and provide key insights to optimize these environments for efficiency, security and reliability.

 

This is a fantastic opportunity for an energetic individual to work as a Infrastructure and DevOps Engineer Intern.  This is an 11-month Internship starting on Monday, 31st August 2026 and finishing Friday, 20th August 2027. 

 

Intern duties will include but are not limited to:  

 

•    Supporting the Linux and Kubernetes teams in the day-to-day operations and administration of these environments
•    Work on global server deployments, server patching, resource monitoring, storage integration, security compliance and break/fix troubleshooting
•    Write and maintain scripts and tools (mostly Python & Bash based scripting) to streamline processes and ensure operational efficiency
•    Automate infrastructure provisioning and management using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or similar technologies
•    Work on global Kubernetes deployments and help optimize the CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and other tools
•    Analyze and optimize the monitoring and observability efforts using tools like Zabbix, Prometheus and Grafana
•    Produce documentation for tasks completed, according to established standards
•    Engage in a culture of can do, innovation, and continuous learning

About you:

 

•    Currently undertaking a bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related discipline
•    Good administration and troubleshooting skills
•    Familiar with Linux, preferably Red Hat or CentOS
•    Awareness of container technologies (Kubernetes, Docker) and CI/CD practices
•    Scripting or automation experience (Python, Bash, or Go)
•    Awareness of automation and configuration management tools such as Ansible and Terraform
•    A desire to write tools and scripts to automate work rather than do things manually
•    Familiarity with tools for monitoring and system alerting
•    Professional and positive communication skills
•    Ability to proactively identify and resolve issues
•    Excellent team player able to work with global cross-functional teams
•    Previous internship and/or project experience is a plus

Your experience includes:

 

•    Familiar with Linux, preferably Red Hat or CentOS administration
•    This role requires working collaboratively, strong communication, heightened attention to detail, superb organization, and collaboration with a wide variety of stakeholders across the globe.
•    Self-motivated, independent and a team player with strong analytical skills.

 

You might also have:

 

•    Currently undertaking a Bachelor or Master’s degree in a relevant qualification.

This is a Full-Time position working 39 hours per week, on-site working. The placement dates are: Starting on Monday, 31st August 2026 and finishing Friday, 20th August 2027
