The Human Resources team is looking for a forward-thinking, solutions-oriented HR Business Partner to support managers and employees across EMEA.


This role will provide a comprehensive, professional and efficient HR service, partnering with leaders to solve people-related challenges, support employee relations activity, and deliver people programmes aligned to Seagate’s business priorities. The role will support employees through all phases of the employee lifecycle and contribute to a positive, consistent and high-quality employee experience.


The EMEA HRBP team operates in a dynamic, international environment supporting both regional and site-based needs. The role requires sound judgement, employee relations understanding, and the ability to work effectively with functional HRBPs, Legal, HR Central, Total Rewards, Talent Acquisition and business leaders.

About the role - you will:

 

  • Partner with managers and employees across assigned EMEA countries, functions or business groups, providing practical HR guidance and support.
  • Support managers in the application of HR policies, procedures, employment law requirements and HR best practice.
  • Provide advice and support on employee relations matters, including performance, conduct, absence, grievances, disciplinary matters, settlement activity and workplace concerns.
  • Work with managers to ensure employee matters are handled consistently, fairly, and in line with country-specific requirements.
  • Build strong working relationships with business leaders, employees, HR Centres of Excellence, HR Central, Legal and other key stakeholders.
  • Support performance management, coaching, career development, talent review, employee engagement and organisation effectiveness activities.
  • Provide data, insights and practical recommendations to help leaders make informed people decisions.
  • Support workforce change activity, including restructures, role changes and reductions in force, working closely with Legal, functional HRBPs and regional leadership.
  • Ensure early visibility and alignment on sensitive cases, helping to create a consistent HR voice to the business.
  • Contribute to EMEA HRBP ways of working, ensuring clear ownership, timely follow-up and effective handoffs.
  • Participate in and support local, regional or global HR projects and initiatives.

You are a pragmatic HR professional who can balance employee experience, business needs and compliance requirements. 
You are comfortable working in complexity, able to build trust quickly, and can provide clear, balanced advice to managers and employees.

  • Sound judgement and decision-making capability the ability to assess risk, options and appropriate next steps.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through on commitments.
  • The ability to work collaboratively and partner with HR colleagues, Legal, managers and employees.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to use data and evidence to support decision-making.
  • Confidence to challenge appropriately and escalate issues where required.
  • A practical, solutions-focused approach and the ability to operate with discretion and professionalism.

Your experience includes:

 

 

  • Experience working in an HR Business Partner, HR Generalist, HR Advisor or similar role.
  • Experience supporting employee relations issues/advising managers on complex HR processes.
  • Understanding of HR practice and employment law in one or more EMEA jurisdictions.
  • Experience working in a matrixed, international or multi-site environment would be advantageous.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing, technology, engineering or fast-paced operational environment would be beneficial.
  • Experience working in a unionised or employee representative environment would be advantageous.
  • Relevant HR qualification, degree or equivalent professional experience.

 

  • CIPD qualification or equivalent professional HR accreditation would be desirable.

This is a Full-Time position working 39 hours per week.
