The hourly rate of pay that is being offered for this role is £13.85 per hour / annual compensation paid is £28,087.80
After completing your 4 years of training and graduating you will be earning an annual salary of £34,009.56 (current rate for Graduate, on this job level).

The Seagate Derry / Londonderry Manufacturing site has been open for 30 years this year. We have over 1400 people working in our facility which is among the most advanced in the world, in the design, development, and volume manufacturing of recording heads. These recording heads write information onto and read information from the recording disc, within the data storage device.

About the role - you will:

 

Successful candidates will be employed by Seagate to gain valuable experience in our thriving global manufacturing business while studying for a degree with no fees or costs associated with higher education. Throughout the four years you’ll develop invaluable skills in all elements of engineering, supported by close mentorship and academic guidance from Ulster University. 

 

Upon satisfactory performance and successful completion of the course, you will continue your career with Seagate, building on your knowledge gained. After the 4 years of training and upon completion of your degree, you will be offered a permanent position at Seagate as a Graduate Engineer. (On completion of your degree you must achieve a minimum level of 2.2)

About you:

 

•    Earn while you learn – continuing your studies with on-site experience.
•    Complete a Level 6 Honours Degree qualifications in Electrical & Electronic Engineering (over 4 years).
•    Learn new technical skills to increase knowledge and ability in Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
•    Comply with health and safety policy and procedures.
•    Coached & mentored by a wide variety of highly skilled, diverse, and experienced people.
•    Be part of a high-performing team.

Your experience includes:

 

•    Self-motivation and enthusiastic.
•    An excellent communicator.
•    Experience or interest in Electrical / Electronic / Engineering/Maintenance with desire to work in Engineering in a world class industry.

 

To be successful in this role, you must end your schooling with the following grades: 2 x B’s & 1 x C (A Level or equivalent). Please provide your predicted grades on your application.

•    BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Engineering (Merit or above)
•    At least two A Levels from: Maths, Further Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Technology and Design, Design and Technology, Double Award Science/Applied Science, Engineering, or Electronics (minimum BBC)
•    A Levels combined with a BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificate (Merit or above)

BTEC Applicants:

This is a Full-Time position working Mon – Fri, 2 day a week at Seagate and 3 days at Ulster University for the first year. Years 2, 3 & 4 will be 4 days a week on-site at Seagate and 1 day at Ulster University. During the University holidays you will be scheduled to work at Seagate E.G. Summer, Christmas etc.
