About the role - you will:

We are looking for a passionate, dynamic and results focused Cassandra operator to join our Lyve organization.

The candidate should have a strong technical background on open-source Cassandra and operating in a multi-cluster environment, with an emphasis on the implementation of automation to manage to clusters and simplify operations. The candidate should have good organizational skills, written and verbal communication skills and be an analytical and structured thinker.

The right candidate should have a demonstrable track record of successfully administering production Cassandra clusters, as well as development experience of writing code. 

  • Proactively manage cluster operations of the global Cassandra estate, troubleshooting and remediation. 
  • Strong logical and methodical troubleshooting skills.  
  • Prototype solutions and develop proof-of-concepts of data models 
  • Promote cross-functional collaboration and engineering excellence. 

About you:

 

  • Experienced with managing Cassandra operations. 
  • Strong knowledge of automation with workflows such as Temporal, Airflow. 
  • Software development knowledge in Java, Kotlin or Golang 
  • An understanding of cloud-based data platform architectures, containers and serverless technologies 
  • Knowledge of cloud native architecture, cloud tooling and DevOps  
  • Experienced in working within a large-scale software/application development environment.  
  • Collaboration and partnership skills with the ability to work in a global environment and deliver results to cross-functional teams.  
  • Strong customer centric and result driven mindset.  
  • Proactive, demonstrate sense of urgency and 'can do' attitude.  
  • Ability to stay organized while managing competing priorities.  
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills 

Your experience includes:

 

  • Bachelor's, Master’,s or PhD degree in computer science preferred, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.  
  • 2 years + of experience with managing Cassandra clusters.
