About our group:

The Recording Head Operations team is looking for Supervisor. In this position, you will be responsible for direct supervision of the operators. Oversee activities in a production area to meet production goals, quality, and cost objectives. This is C shift, Friday-Sunday, and every other Thurs from 6:30am to 6:30pm. Eventual shift rotation for business needs when openings occur is possible. 

About the role - you will:

  • Responsible for direct supervision of approximately 25-40 operators. 
  • Participates in the evaluation and discipline of operators and may have input on recommendation for selection and hire of new non-exempt operators. 
  • Provides general supervision of a major factory unit with responsibility for quantity and quality of work, costs, methods, and the interpretation and enforcement of company regulations. 
  • Completes business excellence projects focused on operational efficiency, safety, scrap reduction, cleanliness, cycle time and yield improvements. Requires occasional supervision while working toward a definite objective using a range of procedures. 
  • Plans own work conferring on unusual matters with upper management or HR Business Partner. 
  • Incumbents receive an outline of work to be performed and are generally free to develop their own work sequence using established procedures. 
  • Errors, while usually not subject to direct verification may be serious, causing losses such as improper utilization of labor, material and equipment, confined within the company. 
  • Has moderate monetary responsibility. 
  • Ability to work C shift, Fri-Sun, and every other Thurs from 6:30am to 6:30pm

  • You’re able to manage multiple tasks. 
  • You’re able to plan, develop, coordinate and direct a large group of people. 
  • Teamwork is a core competency at Seagate, so individual must be able to work and communicate effectively with a diverse group of operators, engineers and technicians. 
  • You have good communication skills which will allow you to maintain regular contact with employees of other departments, supplying, or seeking information. 
  • You have problem solving and gap analysis skills. 

Your experience includes:

  • Wafer manufacturing experience / combination of training and experiences 
  • Demonstrated innovation and self-motivated worker. 
  • Advance working knowledge of MS Office programs. 
  • Completed or in the process of completion of secondary education is preferred. 

 

 

The estimated base wage range for this position is $32.92 - $47.07/hr. The individual base wage is based on work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
