About our group:
Our group develops advanced mechanical, tribological, and thermo-mechanical technologies at the micro- and nano-scale for future generations of hard disk drives. We invent, design, and develop engineering solutions for future data storage devices.
About the role - you will:
· Work with advanced development and product development teams in the areas of thermal and mechanical modeling using Finite Element Methods, machine learning, and simulation tools development. · Develop experience in industry modeling methods to help a team of engineers develop novel design concepts for data storage devices. · Summarize and communicate results to teams from a diverse set of engineering disciplines.

Your experience includes:
· Proven academic background in engineering, physics, materials science, or data science · Experience with numerical modeling using script-based simulation tools · Demonstrated proficiency in numerical modeling · Currently enrolled in a program for Master’s Degree or Ph.D. (preferred) in engineering, physics, or materials science The estimated base wage range for this position is $35 - $43/hr. The individual base wage is based on work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Seagate also offers Interns 12 paid holidays and a minimum of 48 hours of paid sick leave. The benefits for this position are based on a 24 to 40-hour-per-week schedule for a full calendar year and may differ depending on work location and tenure with the Company.
