About our group:

 

Our group is responsible for critical services including capacity planning, capital budget planning, design of factory layouts, factory staffing and factory modelling. 

We design, develop, and apply engineering, mathematical models, simulation, and optimization models to drive solutions to complex manufacturing problems. 

We support and improve the performance of the Manufacturing operations and play a crucial role in the execution of Seagate’s Product and Technology Roadmap 

 

This role will be responsible for developing models to understand key factors affecting factory performance, identifying actions, and initiating business changes based on the data. This will be inclusive of both tactical and strategic business decisions. 

About the role - you will:

 

  • Create and enhance models intended to understand key inputs of factory performance and cycle time to drive business decisions based on data. 
  • Collaborate with various engineering teams to identify business metrics and data sources. 
  • Present results in meetings to engineering, management, director, and vice president levels.  

About you:

 

  • Proven track record of results.  
  • Enjoys working with data. 
  • Able to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong ability to influence and lead others.  

Your experience includes:

 

  • Data analysis, reporting, workflow automation, simulation, optimization, machine learning and visualization skills including but not limited to Excel, SQL, Knime, Python, JMP and beyond. 
  • Proficient in SQL data table structure.  
  • Experience in statistical modeling. 
  • Ability to effectively communicate and present results to all levels to drive action. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering related field (i.e. Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Computer Engineering, Materials, Physics, or Information Technology) and 5+ years of experience or Master’s degree in the same and 3+ years’ experience or PhD and 0+ years’ experience or equivalent experience and education.

  • Prior experience working in a manufacturing/semiconductor environment.

The estimated base salary range for this position is $81,536.00 - $116,596.00. The individual salary is based on work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
