We are seeking an Sr Engineering Specialist who brings strong technical depth and practical problem‑solving skills to provide hands‑on support to a variety of engineering projects, all aimed at developing the equipment and processes that enable Seagate’s next generation of products. 

About the role - you will:

 

Work independently or closely with engineers to solve complex technical problems, improve reliability and performance, and support the successful delivery of high‑quality solutions. This role is well suited for individuals who have built engineering‑adjacent expertise through applied work experience, strong analytical skills, attention to detail, a hands-on approach, and the ability to translate technical findings into clear recommendations.   

 

  • Apply technical knowledge to engineering teams, providing guidance and problem‑solving support to identify root causes and drive resolution of complex technical challenges
  • Perform hands-on assessments of designs, processes, data, or equipment performance to identify issues, risks, and improvement opportunities
  • Support troubleshooting, root‑cause analysis, and corrective action efforts
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure technical solutions meet requirements, quality standards, and timelines
  • Review and maintain technical documentation, specifications, and reports
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and knowledge sharing within the team 

About you:

 

  • Comfortable working cross-functionally and cross-culturally with process engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers
  • Analytical and data-driven, with a strong root-cause and problem-solving mindset
  • Organized and able to efficiently manage multiple projects
  • Able to balance technical depth with clear communication to both technical and nontechnical stakeholders 

Your experience includes:

 

  • Proven experience in an Engineering Specialist or Engineering Technician role in a technical environment
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills
  • Working with engineering tools, systems, or technologies applicable to the specialty area
  • Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience

Salary: The estimated base wage range for this position is $33.02 - $48.00/hr. The individual base wage is based on work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Seagate also offers paid time off, including 12 holidays, 120 hours of vacation, a minimum of 48 hours of paid sick leave, and 16 weeks of paid parental leave. The benefits for this position are based on a full-time schedule for a full calendar year and may differ depending on work location and tenure with the Company.

This is an onsite position where you will work Monday – Friday during core business hours at our Bloomington, MN manufacturing site.
