The Global Wafer Systems organization leverages best in class software development technologies to deliver critical solutions to our wafer nano-manufacturing facilities in both the US and N. Ireland. The organization has resources in the US, Asia, and Northern Ireland.

 

This role will be part of a Global Wafer Systems - Factory IT Support team within the wider IT organization, supporting manufacturing of the recording heads in a 24x7 environment. This role includes installing and maintaining Factory PCs, supporting factory applications, and executing processes to maximize uptime of mission business IT equipment and software.

About the role - you will:

 

  • Be part of Global Wafer Support team supporting factory IT operations at wafer manufacturing sites – Springtown and Minnesota Campus 
  • Cover factory IT help desk working onsite in a 12-hour shift (DAY / NIGHT shifts).
  • Install and maintain IT Factory PCs according to the factory standards. 
  • Be responsible for security patching of factory systems ensuring compliance against the security vulnerabilities. 
  • Maintain compliance for all Info security initiatives including but not limited to endpoint inventory, anti-virus, windows patching. 
  • Participate and contribute to the Global IT projects towards enhancing and upgrading factory systems. 
  • Adhere to desktop software license management procedures. 
  • Be responsible for fault diagnosis & correction for the incidents reported. 
  • Provide support to Wafer Floor Factory Software on the factory PCs and variety of solutions, services hosted in data centers. 
  • Record and track tickets in ServiceNow towards prompt closures with customer feedback 
  • Demonstrate problem solving abilities independently.
  • Identify & active contribution on continuous improvement initiatives: OCAP reviews, KBA generation & ticket follow ups. 
  • Monitor alerts, service availability and performance dashboards responding promptly with actions and escalations to maintain service availability & required performance levels.
  • Follow troubleshooting guides (OCAPs) to resolve common application issues. 
  • Interface with other Global IT organizations wherever needed to ensure compliance with IT Policies, standards, and practices.
  • Escalate or redirect tickets to other Global IT support teams wherever applicable providing regular feedback and updates to the customers. 
  • Implement and support any changes to the factory PCs, systems including imaging.
  • Provide IT support to planned maintenance activities at the sites. 
  • Plays key role in enhancing the customer experience & improvement actions. 
  • Maintain and manage the PC hardware inventory levels and escalates for appropriate actions where necessary. 
  • Leading, mentoring & training peers where necessary. 
  • Offer flexibility in covering shifts wherever needed.
  • Be able to develop small scale scripting/automation where needed.

Your experience includes:

 

  • Must be able to work night shift Monday to Wednesday and every other week Monday to Thursday with the hours of 6:30 pm to 6:30 am.
  • PC setup, installation (hardware & software)
  • Proficiency working on Windows/Linux OS
  • PC and Software/applications troubleshooting skills and support such as windows applications.
  • Proven ability to work in a self-directed environment.
  • Prior experience with the help desk/applications support

 

You might also have:

 

  • Project execution with IT skills involved.
  • Coding Skills
  • Knowledge or exposure to Service/Request Management systems like ServiceNow/Freshworks, JIRA etc.
  • Prior working experience working in a Manufacturing setup.
  • IT related AA Degree or certification

The estimated base wage range for this position is $33.00 - $48.00/hr. The individual base wage is based on work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
