About our group:

 

The Equipment Commodity Management Team defines and executes sourcing strategies for high-value lab and manufacturing equipment, as well as critical components that support Seagate’s global factories and design centers. We are a global team of commodity managers working collaboratively across regions to enable Seagate’s technology roadmap and operational excellence. 

About the role - you will:

 

  • Lead sourcing and acquisition of equipment supporting Seagate Wafer Operations and Head/Media Development teams in the U.S. 
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Seagate teams and suppliers across the U.S. and Europe to deliver solutions aligned with Seagate’s roadmap and production requirements.
  • Conduct competitive analysis to identify best-in-class suppliers and drive strategic sourcing decisions.
  • Negotiate pricing and commercial terms; develop and manage contracts with suppliers. 
  • Monitor cost, schedule, and performance of major contracts through regular supplier interactions and business reviews. 
  • Engage with global counterparts in the U.S., Europe, and Asia on project-specific initiatives. 
 

 

 

 

About you:

 

  • Comfortable working independently and in collaborative team environments. 
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; able to present to all levels of management, including executives. 
  • Ability to integrate business and technical information into your decision making. 
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). 
  • Flexible to accommodate meetings with international teams and suppliers outside standard hours. 

Your experience includes:

 

  • Previous roles in Commodity Management, Supply Chain, or Engineering. 
  • Direct experience working with external suppliers and/or customers. 
  • Skilled in negotiation and conflict resolution. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business Analytics, or a related field with 5+ years of experience. 

 

 

You Might Also Have: 

  • Knowledge of manufacturing equipment, processes, and automation.
  • Experience in semiconductor wafer fabs or within hard disk drive.
  • Familiarity with e-sourcing or web-based purchasing applications.
  • Exposure to analytics tools (Knime, R, Python, Tableau) and AI their application to improve supply chain business processes. 
 

 

 

The estimated base salary range for this position is $73,070.40 - $104,499.20. The individual salary is based on work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
