About the role - you will:

  • Perform quasi-static testing of magnetic recording heads
  • Unravel the mysteries of tunnel junction noise behavior through spectrum and time domain analysis
  • Use differential conductance to dig deeper into noise and tunnel barrier characteristics
  • Analyze test results and connect them to the intriguing realm of device physics
  • Contribute to the conceptual development and validation of innovative test methods

About you:

  • You have a solid understanding of magnetism and spintronics, ready to apply your knowledge in groundbreaking ways
  • You're passionate about developing new metrology concepts and transforming them into successful experiments
  • Familiarity with data analysis and automation software like Matlab and LabView is a plus, helping you excel in this role

Your experience includes:

  • Experience with high-frequency measurements using oscilloscopes and signal analyzers is a bonus
  • You're currently enrolled in a science or engineering Masters or PhD program and will continue your studies in Fall 2026

The estimated base wage range for this position is $35 - $43/hr. The individual base wage is based on work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Seagate offers comprehensive benefits to its eligible Interns, including, but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, and participation in the employee stock purchase plan.  Seagate also offers Interns 12 paid holidays and a minimum of 48 hours of paid sick leave.  The benefits for this position are based on a 24 to 40-hour-per-week schedule for a full calendar year and may differ depending on work location and tenure with the Company.
