We are a high performing team of dedicated program managers who are expert at cross-organizational work, technology intercept planning, and delivering this new technology to Seagate’s next generation HDDs. This is a team where you will learn, make significant contribution, and participate in delivering the Exabytes the world needs for Mosaic 3 and beyond.

About the role - you will:

The Principal Program Manager of the RHT (Recording Head Team) Core Team will lead a diverse team of technical and other professionals in development of heads for next generation HDD products.

 

•    Lead a team of 8-10 members, with support from a dozen more across multiple sites.
•    Set team direction & priorities, measure, and track progress against the goals.
•    Identify and drive required decisions on time and at the right organizational level.
•    Coordinate activities on the team, facilitate discussion and teamwork.
•    Ensure owners are identified for issues and sub-projects related to your program.
•    Communicate to executive management on program status, challenges, and plans.
•    Be the primary interface to the HDD Design Center on head development & delivery.
•    Partner with Thailand slider & HGA development teams to deliver technology & material.
•    Partner with Korat drive factory on logistics, planning, and support.
•    Manage work considering budget, including yield forecasts and materials management.
•    Transfer program to release products team after qualification and initial ramp.
•    Travel 2-8 weeks per year.

About you:

•    Track record of collaborating with multiple cross-discipline engineering teams.
•    Network Across Seagate sites to deliver HAMR products.
•    Excellent communication and organizational skills.
•    Excellent communication skills – both written and oral.
•    Experience creating strong, collaborative relationships with cross-functional partners.
•    Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
•    Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within changing priorities with enthusiasm.
•    Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
•    Good judgment and business acumen with the ability to make timely and sound decision.
•    Fundamental understanding of Wafer, Slider, and HGA new technologies and what’s required to qualify them with the HDD teams and Drive Core Team Leader.
•    Proven Product Delivery and ability to close issues across leaders at all head build sites.

Your experience includes:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 15+ years of experience, or Master’s degree with 12+ years of experience, or Ph.D. with 8+ years of experience, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Experience managing programs or projects and using tools commonly associated with PMP certification (Program Management Professional). PMP certification is desired but not required.
  • Familiarity with the head development process, including factory build, assembly, and testing.
  • Understanding of recording head and HDD functionality.

 

The estimated base salary range for this position is $152,588.80 - $226,595.20 The individual salary is based on work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
