Do you want to work on cutting edge technology that pushes the limits of what an industry can do? You will have the exciting opportunity to help push the areal density of Seagate recording heads in our Wafer Process Development team.  

This is a Process Engineer position in our wafer process development team focusing the photo lithography processing. Our team's mission is to develop new processes for state-of-the-art recording technology. Recording head process technology encompasses all disciplines employed in semiconductor wafer processes technology, performed in a clean room environment. 

About the role - you will:

 

  • Maintain processes for our latest designs during the off shift. 

  • Become familiar with a broad range of clean room technologies and will be given the opportunity to develop skills in photolithography technology by being assigned projects. 

  • Apply problem solving techniques to resolve operational issues with wafer unit processes and development of wafer flows to reduce wafer cycle time and scrap. 

  • Work with and learn from a team of experienced engineers and specialists with various backgrounds. 

  • Investigate root causes of process failures, coordinate execution of experiments, and conduct in-depth data analysis.  

  • Participate in hands-on investigation and resolution of process issues with frequent factory-floor presence. 

About you:

 

  • Willingness and ability to work in a cleanroom. 

  • Communicate and work effectively across shifts with a diverse group of engineers and specialists. 

  • Ability to work a 10-hour off-shift schedule, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday starting around 8 am 

  • Self-motivated, independent worker that demonstrates a strong work ethic. 

  • Learn quickly and adapt to the changing needs of a fast-paced development program. 

  • Clear written and verbal communication of results and issues 

  • Understand teamwork and are able work across shifts and across departments. 

  • Attention to detail and execution. 

  • Desire to develop your abilities for long-term growth potential. 

Your experience includes:

 

Preference will be given to those with relevant hands-on work or intern experience and knowledge in one or more semiconductor processes: lithography, etch, plating, film deposition or metrology. 

Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Material Science, Chemistry, Physics, or related field.

The estimated base salary range for this position is $66,000 - $95,000. The individual salary is based on work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
