About our group:

Seagate is looking for a Wafer Process Development intern who will have an exciting opportunity to work in a wafer process development team to improve the reliability of next generation recording heads at our R&D site in Bloomington, MN. 

About the role - you will:

The main functions will be:

  • Characterization of wafer process stability
  • Materials science understanding of metal-dielectric interfaces
  • Failure root cause analysis
  • Design experiments to validate hypotheses 
  • Perform statistical data analysis 
     

About you:

  • Good written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Highly productive in both team and independent work environments.

Your experience includes:

  • MS or PhD student pursuing a degree in Materials Science & Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, and Electrical Engineering or related engineering disciplines
  • Experience and knowledge on materials characterization (SEM, TEM, XRD, AFM, and etc.), thin film process, thermal stability, diffusion, and heterostructures are a plus.

Our Normandale campus spans two suburbs, Edina and Bloomington, and serves as the Recording Head development and manufacturing arm of Seagate.
