Intern - Machine Learning Research

About our group:

The Data Analytics (DA) team in Characterization and Analytics Group develops big data analytics, machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies to support R&D design and development activities within Recording Head Technology organization.

About the role - you will:

• Work closely with R&D engineering teams to build data analytics workflows and processes, develop statistics & ML models that bring insights into value-added analytics. 
• Data cleaning and pre-process. Post-process, analyze, organize, and present results. Draw meaningful conclusions about expected performance and communicate findings
   

About you:

• Passionate about data and analytics with AI/ML capabilities.
• Ability to work independently with proven problem-solving skills and out-of-box thinking mindset. 
• Good communication and teamwork skills needed in collaborative cross functional team environment.
• Design, develop and deliver data science solutions that exceed expectation. 

Your experience includes:

• Master degree student in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics fields.
• Cloud and edge computing, machine learning, data analysis. 
• Proficient in Python, MATLAB, and Microsoft Office.
• Statistics models & ML algorithms.

 
You might also have: 

• PyTorch or Tensorflow framework. 
• Proficiency with Linux OS and terminal command line is a plus. 
• Version control such as Git or SVN.
• Web based dashboard and visualization.

The estimated base wage range for this position is $35.00/hr. The individual base wage is based on work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Seagate offers comprehensive benefits to its eligible Interns, including, but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, and participation in the employee stock purchase plan.  Seagate also offers Interns 12 paid holidays and a minimum of 48 hours of paid sick leave.  The benefits for this position are based on a 24 to 40-hour-per-week schedule for a full calendar year and may differ depending on work location and tenure with the Company.
