About our group:

The Data Analytics and Reporting Systems (DARS) within the Global Factory IT (GFIT) organization in Seagate is a highly technical team responsible for the design, development, and deployment of systems in wafer manufacturing. We have teams in the US, Northern Ireland, and Asia, with significant collaboration between the teams.  

 

With a portfolio that includes AI-powered solutions, ML algorithms, dynamic visualizations, and rapid deployment, DARS has won industry awards and recognition due to its innovation, best in class systems, and most importantly, value delivery.   

 

We are seeking a highly motivated intern to join our team and contribute to the development of digital agents that leverage advanced AI technologies. This role offers hands-on experience in designing, building, and deploying intelligent systems that automate workflows and enhance operational efficiency. 

About the role - you will:

  • Design and implement digital agents using modern AI frameworks and tools. 
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate agents into existing platforms. 
  • Develop and test conversational workflows, APIs, and automation scripts. 
  • Research emerging technologies in agentic AI and propose innovative solutions. 
  • Document processes, architecture, and best practices for scalability. 

About you:

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently. 
  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities. 

Your experience includes:

  • Strong programming skills in Python (experience with libraries like LangChain, OpenAI API, or similar is a plus). 
  • Expertise and experience in machine learning concepts, natural language processing (NLP), and API integration. 
  • Currently pursuing an MS or PhD degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related field, and returning to classes in Fall 2026.

 

You may also have:

  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP). 
  • Knowledge of agent frameworks or multi-agent systems. 
  • Understanding of workflow automation and digital transformation concepts.

Our Normandale campus spans two suburbs, Edina and Bloomington, and serves as the Recording Head development and manufacturing arm of Seagate. The estimated base wage range for this position is $35 - $43/hr. The individual base wage is based on work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Seagate offers comprehensive benefits to its eligible Interns, including, but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, and participation in the employee stock purchase plan.  Seagate also offers Interns 12 paid holidays and a minimum of 48 hours of paid sick leave.

 

The benefits for this position are based on a 24 to 40-hour-per-week schedule for a full calendar year and may differ depending on work location and tenure with the Company.
