About our group:
Seagate’s IT Global Infrastructure Services (GIS) organization is seeking an intern to optimize and continuously improve our business processes and projects. The intern will assist with IT Infrastructure team with the Kubernetes cluster operator role to automate the support activities, analyze and provide key insights to optimize the microservices environment for efficiency and better ROI. As a part of the Global Infrastructure Services team, our goal is to provide reliable compute, storage and network services to all Seagate factories and design center operations. Our motto is to architect and transform our compute/storage/network systems with standard consistent architecture globally to achieve stability, service agility, simplified support, and ease of management by any Administrators across the globe. Seagate is the leader in enterprise and cloud storage solutions, 40% of the world’s data is stored on Seagate devices.
About the role - you will:
· Understand the Kubernetes cluster operator role and find ways to optimize the supportability of this platform. · Optimize the CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and other tools · Analyze and optimize the monitoring and observability efforts using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and Zabbix · Automate infrastructure provisioning and management using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or similar technologies. · Write and maintain scripts and tools (mostly Python & Bash based scripting) to streamline processes and ensure operational efficiency. · Improve internal tooling to streamline developer workflows and automate manual processes · Champion reliability, security, and performance across our systems · Produce documentation for tasks completed, according to established standards · Demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
About you:
· Proficiency with container technologies (Kubernetes, Docker) · Scripting or automation experience (Python, Bash, or Go) · Knowledge with CI/CD systems and practices · UNIX and Linux system administration experience: ssh, monitoring processes, attaching storage, cleaning disk space, tailing logs, etc. · Good understanding on Automation and configuration management tools such as Ansible, Terraform, PowerShell · A desire to write tools and applications to automate work rather than do things manually · Familiarity with tools for monitoring and system alerting · Professional and positive communication skills · Ability to proactively identify and resolve issues. · Must be comfortable with ambiguity and be a resourceful, savvy professional that is committed to finding solutions and making an impact. · Previous internship and/or project experience is a plus

· Knowledgeable in Linux, Windows, and VMware infrastructure · This role requires working collaboratively, strong communication, a heightened attention to detail, superb organization, and collaboration with a wide variety of stakeholders across the globe. · Self-motivated, independent and a team player with strong analytical skills. · Currently undertaking a bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related discipline and enrolled in Fall 2026 classes.

The estimated base wage range for this position is $22-$36/hr. The individual base wage is based on work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
Seagate offers comprehensive benefits to its eligible Interns, including, but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, and participation in the employee stock purchase plan. Seagate also offers Interns 12 paid holidays and a minimum of 48 hours of paid sick leave. The benefits for this position are based on a 24 to 40-hour-per-week schedule for a full calendar year and may differ depending on work location and tenure with the Company
