About our group:

The Talent Acquisition team influences the business on the hiring process and brings in top talent to the company. As an intern, you will have exposure to various aspects of Talent Acquisition from candidate sourcing to onboarding, and employment branding. You will support Talent Acquisition's current and future initiatives and programs across the organization. If you’re interested in a future career in HR or talent acquisition and building a foundational TA skillset while learning on the job, then this role is for you! 

About the role - you will:

In this program you will have the opportunity to shape the future of Seagate and accelerate your career in HR. As an HR Rotation Intern, you will spend your summer with a group of peers from diverse backgrounds in our 12 week program. Programming and training will be built into your experience to become more familiar with Seagate, HR, and the impact we have on our organization. You will be mentored by teammates and senior leaders who can help to jumpstart your own professional development journey. This experience will allow you to explore different areas of HR and get exposure to our business lines through hand-picked, meaningful projects with high-performing teams across a variety of functions.

 

During your time with us, you will develop cross functional HR skills that drive business results in the following areas:  

  • Talent Acquisition – assist Seagate in bringing in the right talent at the right time.  You will have interactions with both our professional and university hiring teams.
  • Total Rewards – support and learn about the various monetary and nonmonetary benefits available to our employees here at Seagate.
  • Human Resource Business Partners – providing day to day support and consultation to different business lines across various locations.
  • Learning and Development – assist in the continuous process of providing tools for and encouraging the professional development of our Seagate employees.
  • Community and Culture – work with our leaders and Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) on programs and policies that encourage representation and participation of diverse groups of people 

About you:

  • Interested in a career in HR/Talent Acquisition
  • Enjoys working on a cross-functional team
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)   
  • Enjoys networking and collaborating with global teams  
  • Excels in presenting project updates and initiatives
  • Enjoys problem solving and has an inquisitive mind  

Your experience includes:

  • Current enrollment at a US university/school pursuing a degree in business, human resources, or a related field – rising junior or senior preferred
  • Aptitude to work strategically in a variety of functions and environments with a global mindset
  • Competency in Microsoft Office products including but not limited to Word, Excel, SharePoint, and Teams 
  • Willingness to work in a dynamic collaborative environment

Our Normandale campus spans two suburbs, Edina and Bloomington, and serves as the Recording Head development and manufacturing arm of Seagate. The estimated base wage range for this position is $22.00-24.00/hr. The individual base wage is based on work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Seagate offers comprehensive benefits to its eligible Interns, including, but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, and participation in the employee stock purchase plan.  Seagate also offers Interns 12 paid holidays and a minimum of 48 hours of paid sick leave.  The benefits for this position are based on a 24 to 40-hour-per-week schedule for a full calendar year and may differ depending on work location and tenure with the Company.
