This Facilities Tool Install Engineer position will report to the Facilities Operations group at Seagate’s manufacturing site in Bloomington, MN.  This position will be on-site Monday-Friday with daytime hours. You will get to work with a variety of our staff, while working on real projects that provide lasting value to the Facilities Department and Seagate.

About the role - you will:

The Facilities Tool Install Engineer is responsible for managing and coordinating the installation of tools and equipment across projects. This role serves as a key liaison between internal engineering teams, contractors, suppliers, and logistics personnel to ensure timely and efficient tool installations that meet project specifications and safety standards.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate Tool Placement: Collaborate with Industrial Engineering (IE) to confirm tool locations and layout requirements.
  • Estimate Development: Work with contractors to develop accurate cost and time estimates for tool installation projects.
  • Logistics Coordination: Communicate with Capital Management Team (CMT) to track and plan for tool deliveries.
  • Equipment Engineering Engagement: Gather technical and logistical information from Equipment Engineering to support installation planning and execution.
  • Cross-Functional Communication: Work closely with Process Engineers and R&D Engineers to determine the resources and utilities required to support tool functionality.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed records of installation plans, schedules, and progress updates.
  • Issue Resolution: Identify and resolve installation-related issues in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure all installations comply with safety regulations, company standards, and project specifications.

About you:

  • Proven experience in project coordination, construction management, or tool installation (preferred).
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and installation plans.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools.
  • Experience working with contractors and suppliers in a technical environment.

Your experience includes:

  • Familiarity with cleanroom or high-tech manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of tool install processes in semiconductor or advanced manufacturing industries
  • BS in Engineering/Science, or facilities management.

 

 
The estimated base salary range for this position is $92,310.40 - $131,996.80. The individual salary is based on work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
