About our group:

Seagate is seeking a Facilities Operations & Maintenance Technician to support a 24/7, 700,000 sq. ft. high-tech manufacturing campus. This role is responsible for operating and maintaining high purity water (HPW) and wastewater (WW) treatment systems while supporting broader facilities operations.

About the role - you will:

  • Operate and maintain HPW and wastewater treatment systems, including resin regeneration and polishing tank replacement
  • Perform maintenance on pumps, filters, and strainers supporting water systems
  • Monitor system performance using meters, gauges, and instrumentation; document and escalate issues as needed
  • Respond to Building Management System (BMS) alarms appropriately
  • Ensure HPW systems meet required quality standards for operational use
  • Ensure wastewater systems comply with all discharge requirements
  • Collect water samples and conduct analysis using atomic absorption (AA) equipment
  • Complete work orders and support general facilities tasks (including snow removal as needed)
  • Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and internal stakeholders to complete assigned work
  • Maintain strict adherence to safety, environmental, and compliance requirements
  • Independently operate systems during assigned shifts

About you:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in water or wastewater treatment operations
  • Working knowledge of treatment processes, equipment, and regulatory requirements
  • Experience operating and maintaining plant systems, instrumentation, and associated equipment
  • Familiarity with hazardous material handling and emergency response protocols
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow established procedures
  • Ability to recognize and respond to process changes in real time
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally

Your experience includes:

  • Primarily 8-hour shifts
  • Flexibility to work occasional 12-hour shifts to support coverage and scheduled days off
  • Ability to respond to emergency call-ins as needed

Our Normandale campus spans two suburbs, Edina and Bloomington. It serves as the Recording Head development and manufacturing arm of Seagate. The estimated base wage range for this position is $26.44 - $37.82/hr. The individual base wage is based on work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. This position will include an additional Lead Premium of 10%.
