About the role - you will:

Seagate is seeking a Director of Global Investigations to lead the company's global investigations program. This position is responsible for managing and resolving complex investigations involving employee misconduct, fraud, corruption, conflicts of interest, intellectual property theft, asset misappropriation, data misuse, supplier integrity concerns, and insider threats.

 

The Director will lead a team of investigators and work closely with Human Resources, Legal, Ethics & Compliance, Information Security, Internal Audit, and business leaders to ensure investigations are conducted professionally, objectively, and in accordance with applicable laws and company policies. The role will also drive investigative strategy, governance, case management, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives across Seagate's global operations.

 

The Director must build strong partnerships across multiple functions while maintaining independence, objectivity, and confidentiality throughout investigative activities.

 

You will:

  • Lead Seagate's global investigations program, ensuring timely, thorough, and objective investigations.
  • Manage a team of investigators located across multiple regions and provide coaching, development, and performance leadership.
  • Conduct and oversee sensitive investigations involving employee misconduct, fraud, ethics violations, corruption, retaliation, workplace threats, conflicts of interest, data loss, and intellectual property protection.
  • Establish investigative priorities based on organizational risk and business impact.
  • Partner with Human Resources, Legal, Ethics & Compliance, Internal Audit, Information Security, and business leaders throughout investigation lifecycles.
  • Brief executive leadership on high-risk matters and provide fact-based recommendations for resolution.
  • Ensure investigative activities comply with local laws, privacy requirements, company policies, and employee relations standards.
  • Develop and maintain investigation methodologies, quality standards, and investigative documentation practices.
  • Manage external investigative resources, forensic providers, and specialized consultants as needed.
  • Manage a team responsible for conducting pre-employment background checks.
  • Analyze case trends and develop proactive strategies to reduce organizational risk.
  • Support crisis response activities involving workplace violence, executive threats, insider risk, and other significant security incidents.
  • Prepare executive-level reports, dashboards, metrics, and risk assessments.
  • Drive continuous improvement of case management systems, investigative tools, analytics capabilities, and reporting processes.
  • Support mergers and acquisitions due diligence, supplier integrity reviews, and other special projects as assigned.

About you:

  • Proven experience leading complex corporate investigations in a multinational environment.
  • Strong understanding of employee relations investigations, fraud investigations, workplace misconduct inquiries, and corporate risk management.
  • Ability to manage global teams and cross-functional programs.
  • Excellent interviewing, evidence analysis, report writing, and executive communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions in sensitive, high-risk situations.
  • Strong business judgment and ability to balance investigative rigor with organizational needs.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage highly sensitive information.
  • Experience presenting findings and recommendations to senior executives.
  • You are innovative and find new ways to improve the investigations teams’ functions.

Your experience includes:

  • Professional certifications such as CFE, PCI, CFI, CPP, or equivalent preferred.
  • 10+ years of investigations experience with increasing leadership responsibility.
  • Experience in technology, manufacturing, supply chain, or global corporate environments.
  • Familiarity with digital forensics, insider risk investigations, eDiscovery, and data analytics tools.
  • Experience with AI-enabled tools
  • Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Business, Security Management, Law, Accounting, or related field.
  • Advanced degree, JD, MBA, or similar education preferred.

Seagate’s Normandale campus, spanning Bloomington and Edina, MN, serves as the global hub for recording head development and manufacturing. The campus offers an on-site café, fitness center, wellness programs, indoor walking paths, meditation rooms, and frequent cultural and community events. Numerous dining, shopping, and recreational options are located just minutes away.

 

 

The estimated base salary range for this position is $149,260.80 - $221,166.40. The individual salary is based on work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

The benefits for this position are based on a full-time schedule for a full calendar year and may differ depending on work location.
