We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director, Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to join our team and lead HR initiatives at one of our largest Engineering and Manufacturing sites in Bloomington, MN. The ideal candidate will be playing a key role as a strategic HR leader who can drive organizational effectiveness, employee engagement, and talent management strategies to support the achievement of business objectives.

 

The HRBP Director is directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination, and partnership with client groups, leading through influence, and developing HR strategies that move the business forward. Additionally, this position will lead a team of HR professionals to deliver effective talent programs, policies, and practices. Finally, the role will work collaboratively with the HR Centers of Excellence (COEs), and HR Country and Regional Leads to drive business results and contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the organization.

About the role - you will:

 

  • Work closely with the Sr. Director, HRBP to build and implement people strategies in line with the organizational objectives
  • Develop organizational strategies by identifying and researching human resource issues; contributing information, analysis, and recommendation to the organization’s strategic thinking and direction
  • Drive organizational effectiveness by partnering with site and regional leaders to assess and address talent needs, workforce planning, and succession planning
  • Deploy and drive change management and transformation efforts
  • Develop and implement employee engagement initiatives to foster a positive and inclusive workplace
  • Collaborate with Employee Relations and our Legal team to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
  • Enhance department and the organization’s reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments; and bring innovative ideas to light
  • Translate and implement defined local site HR strategies into internationally/regionally/locally applicable action plans and ensure compliance with legislation and regulatory requirements
  • Drive (and lead) growth, efficiency, simplification, and program management efforts
  • Manage and develop a team of HRBPs (HR Business Partners) located at the site
  • Coach individual business leaders to become world-class leaders and increase their performance
  • Ensure that a strong leadership and coaching culture is developed across the organization

Your experience includes:

 

  • Diverse experience in human resources
  • Demonstrated senior HR leadership
  • Working in a global, matrixed technical/engineering high tech and manufacturing company
  • Proven expertise in collaboration across all HR (Human Resources) functions and organizational and geographical boundaries
  • Excellent business acumen that includes an extensive knowledge of business
  • Excellent leadership and coaching skills including the ability to operate at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to deploy and interpret metrics that guide performance effectiveness that have a line of sight to business goals
  • Stakeholder management skills that include the ability to effectively consult, negotiate, resolve conflict, and influence change
  • Highly effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or related field experience

 

 

You might also have:

 

  • PHR/SPHR Certification and/or SHRM CP/SCP
  • Experience partnering with Engineering and Technical organizations
  • Working within a Center of Excellence (COE) environment for recruiting, payroll and compensation/ benefits
  • Experience in Industrial and Labor Relations
