The Contracts Team within the Legal Department manages Seagate's full spectrum of commercial transactions, including sales, procurement, facilities, IT, and supply chain agreements. We provide strategic guidance and comprehensive support for all commercial activities, while maintaining our commitment to delivering exceptional service to our internal business partners.

About the role - you will:

•    Draft and negotiate contracts: Manage a portfolio of sales related contracts supporting Seagate’s APAC operations.
•    Collaborate with Seagate attorneys: Draft and negotiate sales contracts and other legal documents under the general supervision of a Seagate attorney, using standard templates.
•    Determine business requirements: Work with internal stakeholders and business partners to understand requirements and negotiate contract terms accordingly.
•    Provide Analysis: Develop and deliver professional business reports, analytics, and executive-level correspondence
•    Review various contracts: Oversee a portfolio of sales contracts while demonstrating flexibility to work cross-functionally on contracts as needed.
•    Risk Assessment: Identify and evaluate non-standard contract terms, collaborating with attorneys and key stakeholders to ensure appropriate risk management and approval processes are followed.
•    Contract Lifecycle Management: Drive end-to-end contract workflows and approval processes independently, ensuring rigorous compliance with Seagate policies while maintaining operational efficiency.
•    Maintain contract database: Keep an updated database throughout the contract lifecycle, from drafting and signing to amending, renewing, terminating, and archiving.
•    Balance workload: Share responsibilities with other contract managers and to maintain a balanced workload within the department.
•    Cross-functional support: Provide strategic assistance to various legal department functions, including compliance, dispute resolution, intellectual property, government relations, and labor law, while serving as a liaison between Seagate attorneys and outside counsel.
•    Process Innovation and Optimization: Contribute to project teams working on strategic initiatives to enhance contract management processes, implement best practices, and drive continuous improvement across the department.

About you:

•    A motivated self-starter who excels as a collaborative team player and project leader.
•    Ability to exercise independent judgment and employ creative problem-solving skills.
•    Demonstrated understanding of risk management principles and their critical role in protecting business interests.
•    Capability to make sound business recommendations and prepare and present analysis to all stakeholders including executive management.
•    Expert ability to manage competing priorities, manage high-volume contract workflows, and successfully deliver multiple concurrent projects while maintaining attention to detail.

Your experience includes:

•    A minimum of 10 years of experience as a contracts manager, with at least 5 years of experience managing sales contracts in a multinational technology company. Experience with hardware, software, and services contracts preferred.
•    Experience managing sales contracts in APAC region is highly desirable.
•    Managing and negotiating contracts as the point person for all communication and collaboration.
•    Managing contracts throughout contracts lifecycle, from initiation to completion, including database management.
•    Interviewing internal clients to understand business requirements.
•    Converting business requirements into contractual requirements.
•    Summarizing contracts and legal documents for internal review and executive approval.
•    Reviewing and explaining internal policies to stakeholders.
•    Experience with cross-functional projects and teams for process improvement or problem-solving.
•    Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with experience in contract management software systems.
