As a Sales Intern, you will play a key role in supporting the sales team by analyzing and interpreting data to drive informed decision-making and improve sales performance. Your primary focus will be on sales-out tracking, forecasting, win/loss analysis, and mining point-of-sale (POS) data to uncover actionable insights. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in sales operations, data analysis, and strategic planning within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

About the role - you will:

  • Sales-Out Tracking: Monitor and analyze sales-out data to identify trends, performance gaps, and opportunities for growth. Collaborate with the sales team to ensure alignment with sales targets and objectives.
  • Forecasting: Assist in developing accurate sales forecasts by analyzing historical data, market trends, and customer demand. Provide recommendations to improve forecast accuracy and support inventory planning.
  • Win/Loss Analysis: Conduct detailed win/loss analyses to understand customer buying behavior, competitive positioning, and factors influencing sales outcomes. Present findings to the sales team to refine strategies and improve win rates.
  • POS Data Mining: Extract, clean, and analyze point-of-sale (POS) data to identify patterns, product performance, and regional trends. Generate reports and dashboards to support decision-making and drive actionable insights.
  • Reporting and Communication: Prepare regular reports and presentations summarizing key findings and recommendations. Communicate insights effectively to cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and operations.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with sales managers, analysts, and other stakeholders to support strategic initiatives and ensure data-driven decision-making across the organization.

About you:

Your experience includes:

  • Robust analytical skills with proficiency in Excel, Tableau, or other data visualization tools.
  • Familiarity with sales operations, forecasting, and data analysis concepts.
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Business, Marketing, Data Analytics, or a related field.

The estimated base wage range for this position is $20 - $29.50/hr. The individual base wage is based on work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Seagate offers comprehensive benefits to its eligible Interns, including, but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, and participation in the employee stock purchase plan.  Seagate also offers Interns 12 paid holidays and a minimum of 48 hours of paid sick leave.

 

The benefits for this position are based on a 24 to 40-hour-per-week schedule for a full calendar year and may differ depending on work location and tenure with the Company.
