Seagate has created multiple growth organizations that will mature Research and Development concepts into revenue growth vehicles.  The Memory Appliance Group services several focused areas from new emerging memories to controller design to software development from within our R&D organization.   

About the role - you will:

 

  • Understand of board management controller functions, operations, and development
  • Understanding of servers, and general CXL-DDR protocols with Open BMC
  • Work closely with Engineering staff to accomplish key project goals
  • Complete project delivery:
    • Development of software for next generation baseboard management controllers
    • Support of prior QEMU (Quick Emulator) models

About you:

 

  • Strong statistical and analytic skills
  • Actively pursuing Bachelors in a related Engineering or Computer Science
  • Understanding of memory basics, server operations, and related protocols.
  • Self-motivated and demonstrated ability to adapt to a changing environment and learn new technology
  • Excellent team player
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

Your experience includes:

 

  • Working knowledge of C/C++, Python; OPEN BMC Experience is a Plus
  • Enrolled in a bachelor’s program in electrical engineering and computer science--must be enrolled in Fall 2025 classes.
    • Candidate is ideally in their final year of study

Our Shakopee campus is located 25 minutes southwest of Minneapolis in a setting with a rural vibe – it overlooks a horse racing track and stables, yet it has great entertainment venues close by as well. With wide-open spaces, the campus has plenty of space for running, biking, shooting some hoops or playing volleyball over lunch. The estimated base wage range for this position is $16 - $24/hr. The individual base wage is based on work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. 

Seagate offers comprehensive benefits to its eligible Interns, including, but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, and participation in the employee stock purchase plan.  Seagate also offers Interns 12 paid holidays and a minimum of 48 hours of paid sick leave.  The benefits for this position are based on a 24 to 40-hour-per-week schedule for a full calendar year and may differ depending on work location and tenure with the Company
