InfoSec Intern

About our group:

This Information Security intern position is in the InfoSec Operations team at Seagate. The InfoSec intern will work across different areas such as network security, endpoint detection and response, cloud security, and threat hunting.

About the role - you will:

• Assist in developing additional Threat Hunting tasks and Threat Hunts. 
• Assist analyzing the effectiveness of Threat Hunts, and documenting MITRE ATT&CK tactics covered. 
• Assist in responding to requests and incidents related to network security tools. 
• Analyze logs for security events and respond to incidents. 
• Assist in identifying and ingesting relevant threat intelligence. 

About you:

• Self-driven personality who can work with moderate level of supervision and direction
• Enthusiastic and quick learner with good verbal and written communication skills. 
• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, planning, and organizational skills 

Your experience includes:

• Current Bachelor's or Master's student in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline, and returning to classes in Fall 2025
• Basic knowledge of cyber security principles, tools, operating systems (Windows / Linux), and computing devices  
• Interest in cybersecurity threat hunting and threat intelligence
• Proficiency in one or more of the following-Python, XML, HTML, SQL and / or familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK framework would be a plus.

The estimated base wage range for this position is $22 - $35/hr. The individual base wage is based on work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Seagate offers comprehensive benefits to its eligible Interns, including, but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, and participation in the employee stock purchase plan.  Seagate also offers Interns 12 paid holidays and a minimum of 48 hours of paid sick leave.  The benefits for this position are based on a 24 to 40-hour-per-week schedule for a full calendar year and may differ depending on work location and tenure with the Company.
